![]() The spacious, modern kitchen has extra room in the two refrigerators for storing your perishable items. He also makes great macadamia nut pancakes & waffles, french toast (made with Hawaiian sweet bread), and excellent tropical fruit & yogurt smoothies. The coffee is also made from beans grown on their property but a variety of teas are also available. One of the co-owners, Michael, is the chef and serves up a variety of tropical fruits, including mangos, bananas, and pineapples picked earlier in the morning from the garden on the property. Upon arrival in the afternoon we were served fresh mango juice and macadamia nut cake. We closed the windows the first night we were there since it was cool but kept them open the following 2 nights and it was quite comfortable. There is also a jacuzzi and a swing suspended from a huge old guava tree in the backyard. There is a very large living room for all guests and a nice porch on the ocean view side of the house with lots of tables & chairs. Our suite was quite spacious with a king sized 4 poster bed, a huge walk in closet, and a spacious bathroom equipped with a large walk in shower and a separate bathtub. The other options on this property were the more rustic cottage on the grounds (which has only screens and no closable windows) and the smaller rooms in the main house which don't have ensuite showers. We splurged and stayed in the big suite on the 1st floor of the main plantation house which is located on the ocean-facing side of a hill at an elevation of over 1,000 feet. ![]() Many of the properties in the area grow tropical fruit, macadamia nuts, and coffee. The terrain in this area of the island is steep and lush with vegetation. We're very glad me made the choice to stay at this B&B on the southwest side of Hawaii during our visit to the big island in mid-March. ![]()
